My daily life is a mixture of service, self care and checking in with friends with family. I care for a lovely lady who is 81, everyday I take care of her and she takes care of me. Giving me an appreciation of age, life, awareness of human frailty and intimacy. Each day, 5 days a week, 8 hours a day we spend time together, we keep each other company, we talk and exchange stories. We sit and laugh while watching daytime TV and we comfort each other during racial tension displayed daily, completely aware of who we are and the impact we can make.
She often says thank you, and I think about how much I mean to her and how much she means to me.
The words above are not my own, still it’s a timely reminder for us all, to DARE TO LIVE, Dare To Be Human and exist with love, awareness and service for others.
