||130||: Let it Go

The conversation about letting go, often times, starts with things.

In my personal journey of letting go of things and trinkets, no matter how many sessions of completing the #MinimalistGame, I am aware, once again, that I own more than I realize. I am reminded that after the months of sorting, selling, donating, and gifting, most of my physical and material needs met. This is not a good vibes only seminar, this is my truth, I have a lot of shit. So letting go isn’t about tossing everything away, it’s about asking myself, what do I want, what is my cause and what tools do I need to facilitate change?

Here are 3 posts about my process of letting go of physical things:

Preparing for Wealth or Poverty?

I had a conversation with a childhood friend, one of those chat’s, where we remind ourselves continually, that we can change our reality, one thought and deliberate intention at a time. (Pause) What holds us back?

I asked, why am I so afraid to let go? I can give a list of quick reasons, and as I list them, they all sound anxious, fearful, and not the best frequencies for change.

Our words have power, our thoughts become reality, and the condition of the environment we keep, tells us what we want and what we call valuable. Is my stuff valuable, is it worth it, if it causes me anxious, pain and discomfort?

I asked my friend, when you are wealthy … so wealthy that you don’t obsessively worry about enough – you know you’re secure, imagine that. You will be able to provide for your family and change peoples lives, imagine that. Do you think you’d hold on to your extra things, you know that bullshit in the corner that you keep? We couldn’t help but laugh in unison, she knows, and I know.
There is an emphasis on extra because it describes the excessive, which can be difficult to maintain.

I see why wealthy folks have tidy homes with only the items that bring them joy and that are functionable. It feels good to walk into a home that is inviting, where everything is in it’s place, and where you can comfortably sit, resting the mind and body. Your mind can rest on whatever you deem important, a wall to wall library, house plants, fruit trees and vegetables in the garden, comic books, cosmetics, whatever brings you joy and functions in your world… you’re a creator, keep your tools.

When I hold that thought, of the peace – tranquil – space with only the things I need and the people I love, I continue smiling, I can breathe and release.

Let it go

  • The best way to live in abundantly, is to expect good things to take place, to expect that your time and energy will reap the benefits.
  • The best way to live abundantly, is to live with the mindset that you will succeed and have most of your needs met.
  • We cannot live in abundance, when we function in fear, when we function with the fear of missing out, when we allow the social marketers to tell us what we need.
  • When we sit still and meditate even for just a few minutes, we know what we need and most times, it isn’t things…

To: anyone who is feeling burdened and heavy, release and be free.

On the other side is rest.
