@treasure.eachsecond
Hey folks, today (Wednesday) is the extra post day I mentioned. Today is one of those days that I’m bursting with excitement and want to share something with you.
Last night (awfully early in the AM) I posted this photo on Instagram, and was searching for the best note of inspiration to add to the caption. I intended to post a quote about blooming and found this writer/poet, 𝐀𝐧𝐚ï𝐬 𝐍𝐢𝐧. Their words drew me in, I was completely captivated by the messages and needed no other stimuli.
I hope these words inspire you, encourage you to reflect and digest what is applicable:
“We write to taste life twice, in the moment and in retrospect.” — 𝐀𝐧𝐚ï𝐬 𝐍𝐢𝐧
“And the day came when the risk to remain tight in a bud was more painful than the risk it took to blossom.” — 𝐀𝐧𝐚ï𝐬 𝐍𝐢𝐧
“We do not grow absolutely, chronologically. We grow sometimes in one dimension, and not in another; unevenly. We grow partially. We are relative. We are mature in one realm, childish in another. The past, present, and future mingle and pull us backward, forward, or fix us in the present. We are made up of layers, cells, constellations.”
— 𝐀𝐧𝐚ï𝐬 𝐍𝐢𝐧
”From the backstabbing co-worker to the meddling sister-in-law, you are in charge of how you react to the people and events in your life. You can either give negativity power over your life or you can choose happiness instead. Take control and choose to focus on what is important in your life. Those who cannot live fully often become destroyers of life.” — 𝐀𝐧𝐚ï𝐬 𝐍𝐢𝐧
”You cannot save people. You can only love ”
— 𝐀𝐧𝐚ï𝐬 𝐍𝐢𝐧
”What we call our destiny is truly our character and that character can be altered. The knowledge that we are responsible for our actions and attitudes does not need to be discouraging, because it also means that we are free to change this destiny. One is not in bondage to the past, which has shaped our feelings, to race, inheritance, background. All this can be altered if we have the courage to examine how it formed us. We can alter the chemistry provided we have the courage to dissect the elements.”— 𝐀𝐧𝐚ï𝐬 𝐍𝐢𝐧, The Diary of Anaïs Nin, Vol. 1: 1931-1934
“I postpone death by living, by suffering, by error, by risking, by giving, by losing.”
— Anaïs Nin
”Shame is the lie someone told you about yourself.”
— Anaïs Nin
“It is a sign of great inner insecurity to be hostile to the unfamiliar.” — Anaïs Nin
